Define the three types of tourism

Introduction:
Within the travel and tourism industry there are three types of tourism. These three are
domestic, inbound and outbound tourism. Domestic tourism are tourists who go on holiday
within their country. Inbound is when tourists from other countries come to a country to go
on holiday. Outbound tourism is when tourists go out of their country to go on holiday.
There are the three different types of tourists that require different needs depending on
what kind of tourist they are.

Travel and tourism component industries:
There are two types of accommodation – serviced and non-serviced
Serviced accommodation:
This is the type of accommodation that provides different types of services to the customers
who stay at that accommodation. This type of accommodation will provide serviced that will
look after the customer and tend to their needs. For example, the accommodation will have
staff that will come and clean the rooms when the customer is out or they will have catering
services that provide food and drink that can be made available to the customer’s room.
Entertainment is something that will also sometimes be provide in serviced accommodation
such as a pool in the facility. Bread and breakfasts such as ‘Aber Cottage’ are
accommodation which provide services, they provide services such as room to room service
and free breakfast which is provided downstairs. They are a good example of serviced
accommodation as they are the type to be dedicated to providing services to their
customers.
Non-serviced accommodation:
This is the type of accommodation which does not provide any services to their customers
and allows them to look after themselves with the available items provided in the
accommodation such as a kitchen, washing machine and a bathroom and other items
provide in the room. Which allow for customers to be able to cater and clean for
themselves. For example, caravan sites such as Bryn y Gwin Farm are a non-serviced
accommodation as they only provide the necessary parking spots for the caravanners which
are required to bring their own needs such as a bathroom and toilet room.

Transport provisions – which are the different types of traveling which are rail, road, sea
and air:
Rail:
This is a form of transport that is done by train, it is a efficient and quick way to get
passengers to destinations quickly. Is has many stations which are located in small and big
areas which allow for tourists to have a simple and quick way of travelling. They provide a
different arrangement of tickets which allow for different kinds of travelling by class
depending on the purchased ticket. There are many types of rail transportation such as
Train Operating Companies like Transport for Wales which specialise in providing transport
for the public with different types of fares for different classes and a wide variety of
destinations. They aim to transport only their customers and provide a wide variety of travel
classes.

, Road:
This is a form of travel which is provided by different types of transport that operate on the
road. This allows for tourists to access a wide range of destinations and allows them to get
within a close walking distance to where they need to be. It is something that also gives
tourists the choice of where they want to go. It gives the driver the choice of destination
and allows for them to set off at the best time that suits them. There are many types of
transportation on the road such as rental cars, a good example of this are ‘Eurocar’ which
rent out cars to tourists for the amount of time booked. This allows for the tourist to access
the many routes provided by roads that cover the whole country connecting different
destinations.
Sea:
This is a form of travel that takes part within the ocean and provides transport between
countries that are close together. It allows for the connection of cheaper transportation
between close together countries which will cover a variety of different routes to different
locations near the coast. It can allow for tourists to take their bigger belongings with them
such as their cars. An example of sea travel are ferries, they are a type of sea transport that
provide transportation of passengers and their cargo along with provided services on board
such as accommodation, shops and restaurants. An example of a ferry company that does
this called ‘Sealink’ in New Zealand which provide transportation of tourists along with the
many services such as food and entertainment.
Air:
This is a form of transportation that takes place in the air and has many different routes
across the world that apply to all the different tourism industries. They provide
transportation to all location in a country whether it be inland or near the coast along with it
being either long-haul or short-haul. They do international and national transportation and
are able to provide different types of classes to travel in. There are a wide variety of
different types of air travel that allow for the transportation of different classes. For
example, ‘Emirates’ is an airline that specialises in the transportation of international and
national passengers along with differing classes with entertainment that is normally
provided. They are one of the bigger airlines that tend to the growing demand for air
transport.

Attractions which allow for different types of entertainment to differing types of tourism
Natural:
This is a type of attraction that is normally protected by the government which is naturally
there by its own cause. It is a wide variety of different country sides and natural features
that allow for tourists to have the right to roam. This type of attraction is one that will
normally appeal to a certain type of tourist that go on holiday to see the natural
environment and the landscape. An example of this is a national park which is normally
protected by the government but allows tourists to go and experience the landscape. An
example of a national park is the ‘Grand Canyon’ located in America which has a beautiful
landscape that appeals to tourists who just go there to see that location.
Heritage:
This is a type of attraction which is a protected historical site that has had all its historical
values preserved by the government to protect the past. Heritages contain many aspects
from the past and allow for tourists to experience and understand the history of that area.
Heritages allow for tourists to experience the past in full and provide a viewing of historical
