Counterargument to Edmund Gettier
Edmund Gettier provides an argument against the traditional definition of knowledge in his paper, “Is Justified True Belief Knowledge?” from 1963. To do so, Gettier provides an example of a scenario that fits into the description of “justified true belief” but is nonetheless not an instance of knowledge.
