This portfolio is developed for an assessment of the internship, that the student Nadezhda Ivanova, has
conducted in an Amsterdam based international company, called Aectual. The purpose of this portfolio
is to provide an overview and evidence in terms of a collection of relevant documents, that display the
student’s development of professional behaviour and the implementation of gained knowledge gained
into practice.
Aectual is a XL 3D printing firm specialising in manufacturing and selling architecture products from bio-
based materials and recycled waste plastic. It was founded in 2017 by three architects, and it has quickly
taken up the niche market of providing sustainable products to major businesses in various industries
such as high-end retail, automotive, airports, private architecture, and interior firms. The product variety
range from designed specific objects and elements such as “Planters” and “Room Dividers” to uniquely
designed and customized studio solutions such as an “Aectual Sunshade Roof” or “Permanent Facade
Systems".
Aectual has a team of 20-25 employees, and it has been focused on Europe and the Middle East
market. However, it is currently scaling up and expanding to new market segments and regions such as
the USA. As a New Business Development and Sales intern, working under the leadership of Ms Andrea
van Zwet, Business Development Manager of Aectual, I am responsible for various tasks to support and
improve business sales and meet quarterly and yearly targets. The activities range from actively
contacting prospect clients, generating leads, updating CRM system, brainstorming on ideas about
increasing sales, replying to requests and providing customers with quotations, conducting marketing
and sales research.
