Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a common health condition characterized by a slowly progressive

health condition of the brain characterized by disturbances in planning, reasoning, language, and

perception as well as memory impairment. According to Swerdlow (2011), Alzheimer’s disease

is a common neurodegenerative disorder affecting approximately 5.4 million people in the USA

costing the nation about $ 385 billion in a single year. Unlike other disorders, the development of

between 40 and 50 years. The disease’s symptoms can be suppressed through medications, but

for improved support services as well as management strategies for the condition’s symptoms.

Affected Population

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most common old age health disorder experienced by

most of the Americans. Most of the people who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease

are above 65 years, but studies indicate that despite this age being one with most people

diagnosed with the disease a significant number of people who develop this condition begin

experiencing these symptoms at the 40s and 50s (Crystal, 2015). African Americans are the most
