Influence of Western Nations and Invasion from Russia

Western Nations have had and continue to have an influence on the rest of the world through colonization and imperialism. After countries receive their independence from Western colonization and imperialism, there tends to be a power struggle that leads to civil unrest and/or reliance on Western Nations. From civil unrest and Western reliance, these countries face two long-term effects today: instability and challenges in development. There lies complexity and controversy within Russia. This nation has a series of compounded, historical events with rulers who made controversial mandates and reforms. Though these series of historical events are full of complexity and controversy, they have all played part in the shaping of current territorial expansion and promotion of jingoistic sentiment within Russia.
