STROKE REHABILITATION
AVERT RCT trial (A Very Early Rehabilitation Trial)
- -> vroege mobilisatie van beroerte patienten na onset (verticalisatie)
- Fase 2 trial dus gaat de safety en feasibility na (met andere woorden of de interventie geen negatieve invloed
heeft en of het klinisch toepasbaar is in een patiëntenpopulatie)
o gemobiliseerde groep zou significant sneller weer wandelen (kleine steekproef voor hypothese testing)
- Fase 3 trial = herhaling met grotere steekproef (# benodigde patiënten berekend in fase 2) w

- Tussen 2011 en 2015 -> kennis binnen de standaard care verbetert -> usual practice beweegt al meer richting
de experimentele interventie dus minder contrast tussen experimentele en controle groep
- In de mobilisatie groep doen pt het ook slechter. mRS heeft maar een restricted aantal opties wat een
gelimiteerde responsiveness/ sensitiviteit geeft.
o In 1 categorie al een grote variatie bvb mensen kunnen eenzelfde taak uitvoeren maar er is een groot
verschil in moeite en duur
o Goed voor long term outcome bij neurologen om outcome van de interventie te bestuderen + simpel
in gebruik + makkelijk uit te leggen <-> kine’s meer details nodig voor beter onderscheid functionaliteit
