Lecture 1- Keuzegedrag van consumenten bepaalt wat of hoeveel geproduceerd wordt:
Inkomen: consumeren of sparen → bank→ leent aan bedrijven → investeringen
- Investeringsgoederen: bijdrage aan kapitaalgoederenvoorraad: machines, gebouwen,
zonnepannelen, wegen, infrastructuur.
- Kapitaalgoederenvoorraad: neemt toe bij het aanschaffen van kapitaalgoederen
(investeringsgoederen) en neemt af bij het afschrijven van machines, auto’s etc.
Het saldo van de aanschaf en de afschrijving kapitaalgoederen= investering.
- Mondiale kapitaalgoederen voorraad neemt toe: investeringen, ook in ontwikkelingslanden.
Bij het economische systeem, hoort ook het eco-systeem: natuurlijke hulpbronnen:
- Niet vernieuwbaar: fossiele brandstoffen, water, wind, zonne-energie
- Vernieuwbaar: bio-energie, hout, vis, bladeren, natuur
Lineaire economie: gebruikt hulpstoffen, maar dumpt ze vervolgens, geen hergebruik
Cellulaire economie: verwerkt grondstoffen opnieuw, dumpt ze niet: de overheid moet hierbij een rol
spelen om dit te kunnen stimuleren.
Het klimaatvraagstuk zit bij de natuurlijke hulpbronnen: emissies - producent - emissie - verwarming van
de aarde - stijging van de temperatuur
Overbevissing - leging natuurlijke hulpbron - meer weg dan terug

Er zijn 3 manieren om de impact op het milieu, ook wel de milieudruk, terug te brengen. Via:
- P: population naar beneden terugbrengen
- A: economische activiteit terugbrengen: minder productie is minder energieverbruik is minder
druk op het milieu
- T: verbeterde schonere technologie introduceren
Nu is er juist neiging tot het produceren van meer producten

Het bovenste punt, is het punt waar de economische druk zo groot is op het milieu, dat het uit zijn
voegen barst.
- Bij een heel laag inkomen, is er nauwelijks impact
- Neemt het inkomen toe, dan neemt de druk op het milieu toe
- Als mensen heel rijk worden, zodanig rijk dat ze zich om meer bekommeren dan eigen gewin,
dan wordt er betaalt om rotzooi op te ruimen. Het geld wordt dan besteedt aan schonere
technologien en milieukwaliteit.
