Section 4 Project: Decision making modalities
The process of deciding can be very difficult, not everyone realizes the process that
people go through when having to decide on making a choice that will impact their lives. The
choice that I made that was very difficult to make was the decision to enroll in college after
nearly twenty years of graduating from high school. I had endured countless careers, a marriage,
and two children before finally deciding that it was time to make a change in my life for the
better. Not everyone realizes that it is not just something that can be said or done overnight, it
takes planning and execution to make it work and then see it through to the end. The choice to go
back to school was not easy, and caused me to have to make choices that affected my career at
the time. However, if I wanted to change my life for the better and have a career that I wanted, it
was something that I needed to do.
For the thinking modality, I was very much in thought about the details that were
involved in the process of going back to school. Where do I start? Where do I want to go to
school? How am I going to pay for it? It all was floating around in my mind as questions that
needed answering before I could really start to begin at executing any of the things that I wanted
to accomplish in the first place. I had to figure out a way that it would all work out financially,
since I would have to be able to live while going back to school at the same time. Not only that,
but there is the matter of making it work with a work schedule and make sure that it does not
conflict with classes.
For the feeling modality, my heart very was motivated to get back to school to be able to
get a better career. I felt that I was doing the right thing, and was very glad that I had made the
decision to do so. It was also very overwhelming as the stress of having the added responsibility
