Acentos en las palabras monosílabas.
Las palabras que poseen una sola sílaba no llevan tilde, salvo en los casos de acento diacrítico.
Ejemplos: mes, sol, ya, son, dio, guion.
Acentos en los polisílabos.
El acento en las palabras polisílabas se aplica según las mismas sean agudas, llanas, esdrújulas o
sobreesdrújulas.
Acentuación de las palabras agudas.
Son aquellas que llevan la sílaba tónica en el último lugar. Las mismas deben llevar tilde si terminan
en las consonantes “n” o “s” y si no están precedidos por otra consonante. Llevan también tilde si
terminan en una vocal.
Ejemplo: canción, correré, razón, compás.
Acentuación de las palabras llanas.
Son aquellas que poseen la sílaba tónica en el penúltimo lugar y en los siguientes casos:
- Cuando terminan en una consonante distinta de “n” o “s”;
- Cuando terminan en el dígrafo “ch”.
Ejemplo: trébol, Bolívar, dólar, césped, referéndum.
Acentuación de las palabras esdrújulas.
Las palabras esdrújulas son aquellas que tienen la sílaba tónica en el antepenúltimo lugar. Este tipo
de palabra siempre lleva tilde.
