Les 1: De oorsprong van de Filosofie1.1 Inleiding
Filosofie: komt van het Griekse filein en sophia
Filein: “houden van”
Sophia: Griekse godin van de wijsheid
Oorsprong van de filosofie kan op twee manieren beantwoord worden:
- Filosofie is zo oud als de mens zelf.
- Een manier van denken die ontstaan is in een bepaalde periode en een bepaalde
cultuur.
In het oosten:
- Zienswijzen het levenslicht zagen, zoals de Upanishaden in India.
- In diezelfde periode revolutioneerden Boeddha en Mahavira.
- Verder in China kwam Confucius met een sociale filosofie en kende het taoïsme
haar bloei.
In het westen:
- “Ontstaan omschreven als overgang van mythos naar logos: Van een wereldbeeld
gebaseerd op mythes naar een meer rationele verklaring. Waarbij de natuur uit
de natuur wordt verklaard en waarbij observatie en argumentatie een belangrijke
rol innemen.
Voorbeelden van mythische wereldbeelden:
- Odysseus van de blinde schrijver homeros
- Zondeval uit de bijbel
Filosofische houding:
- Verwondering
- Kritische reflectie van twijfel
- Reductionisme: herleiden van complexe werkelijkheid tot eenvoudige principes
- Duidelijk en consistent argumenteren.
