What was the most useful strategy you learned during this course? How will you apply

strategy in your future studies here at UoPeople?
My favourite learning strategy from this course is the Cornell Method. I like this method of
note-taking because it is simple, it is easy and it keeps things organised. I also like how easy it is to
review my notes at a later time. I think during my time at UOPeople, we will be asked to watch a lot
of videos, read a lot of papers and subsequently take a lot of notes. I think this convenient method
will come in useful during my time here. Another useful strategy I have researched more because of
this course is critical thinking. Skillsyouneed states “Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly
and rationally, understanding the logical connection between ideas” (n.d.) and I believe this will be
useful in the coming years at UOPeople.
The most surprising thing for me during this course was the importance of peer assessments.
I consider my writing of assignments to be of good quality, and I enjoy spending the time to re-
search a topic, but peer assessment is not something I've experienced before and I’d be the first to
admit I struggled with the concept in the early weeks. However, I quite enjoy the task now and I
believe I've definitely improved in that area. I was surprised at the difficulty of marking someone
else’s work and I was unable to find faults in the assignments. Over time, and after plenty of feed-
back, I think I've picked up the skill.
