1.Hoe worden stemmingsstoornissen biologisch verklaard.
Etiologie van depressie:
- biologisch: afwijkende concentraties van bepaalde stoffen in de hersenen en genetische ‘defecten’

Tryptofaan TRY-OH zet tryptofaan om in 5HTP AAADC zet 5HTP om in 5HT Opgeslagen in

5HT wordt afgebroken door MOA geconverteerd naar
inactieve metaboliet.
De 5HT neuron heeft ook een serotonine transporter (SERT).
Deze pompt serotonine uit de synaps en terug in de presynaptische
zenuwcel waar het wordt opgeslagen voor de toekomst.
MAO-A en B liggen buiten de neuron, MAO-B ligt ook in het neuron
wanneer er sprake is van hoge concentratie.
Serotonine heeft 5HT2A receptoren.
Al deze receptoren zijn
postsynaptisch. En zij gevestigd in
vele hersendelen.
