Prijsvorming bij onvolkomen concurrentie: monopolie,monopolistische concurrentie en oligopolie.
MONOPOLIE
De kenmerken van een monopolie:
1 aanbieder veel vragers.
Gesloten markt.
Ondoorzichtige markt .
Homogeen product.
We kunnen de monopolies onderverdelen in 3 soorten:
Overheidsmonopolie: NMBS.
Natuurlijke monopolie: een onderneming beschikt als enige over bepaalde grondstoffen.
Feitelijke monopolie: de ondernemer is er in geslaagd om alle concurrenten uit de markt te
verdringen. Deze kunnen ontstaan door de hoge instapkosten (Pidpa), door technische
suprematie (kerncentrales) of door patenten (polatoid).

Doordat de monopolist een prijszetter is, zal de prijsvorming op de
Markt identiek zijn als de prijsbepaling bij de individuele monopolist. V=v
Om de prijsvorming op de markt te bepalen moeten we dus gaan kijken
naar de kosten en de opbrengsten van de individuele monopolist. Zo
Kunnen we de prijs en afzet bepalen waar de winst maximaal is. Deze
prijs zal dan ook de marktprijs zijn.

Net zoals bij volkomen concurrentie zal de monopolist optreden om een hoeveelheid af te zetten
waarbij zijn winst het grootst is of dus waar het verschil tussen de totale opbrengsten en de totale
kosten het grootst is.
Een andere manier om de optimale productiegrootte te bepalen gaat uit van de marginale kosten en
opbrengsten. De optimale productiegrootte waar de winst maximaal is, wordt bereikt wanneer
zoveel wordt geproduceerd dat MO = MK. De optimale combinatie van prijs en afzet bij streven naar
maximale winst noemt men het punt van Cournot.
OLIGOPOLIE
Monopolistische concurrentie is een tussenvorm tussen volkomen concurrentie en een monopolie.
Kenmerken van een oligopolie:
Veel vragers en weinig aanbieders.
De markt is relatief gesloten. Er kan onder meer spraken zijn van hoge startinvesteringen,
vergunningen, tegenwerken door concurrenten, …
Het product kan zowel homogeen zijn als heterogeen. Bij een heterogeen oligopolie zijn de
producten substituten van elkaar.
De markt is ondoorzichtig.
