Slavery wasn't allowed passed the 36*30 parallel in the Louisiana purchase lands, which was the land above the southern border of Missouri. What consequences did it have? It angered southerners because this compromise would lead to the end of slavery. It aided to ending slavery because it was said that no slaves could be brought in outside of Missouri, and that any slave born into slavery was to be freed after 25 years
