Mobile phones are making teenagers antisocial. They spend far toomuch time on them and as a result they don’t have hobbies or interests
outside of the world of social media. Parents should control their
teenager’s free time.
● Imagine one day when there are teenagers around the world who can commit
crimes like hurting or injuring people because of their phones. Mobile phones are
making teenagers antisocial as they spend most of their time on their phones rather
than going out, talking to people physically.Parents should control their teenagers’
time so that this anti-socialisation does not become an addiction to their children
with no way forward.
● Unfortunately, phones are used by teenagers for numerous purposes like
communication, online classes, research and so many more. The mobile phones
used by teenagers hinder them from exploring the gold and pearl inside of them as
they don’t take time out to think about their life and what their future is going to
look like, is it going to be clouded with a bunch of useless things that are not
important? However, considering the other things that these teenagers use their
phone for, it is quite difficult to discourage them from utilising their phones. In the
UK, about 50% of Ten year olds, have mobile phones; as of 2019, 93% of teenagers
have phones. Who knows what the percentage will be by 2040? Elon Musk, the
richest man in the world said “ I think there should be regulations on social media
to the degree that it affects the public good”. This is clearly a very huge challenge in
the world we live in today. According to research, most teenagers spend an average
of eight hours on their mobile phones in a day. The teenagers no longer want to go
out to socialise with family and/or friends(especially family). Personally, I have a
great concern on the negative effects that phones have on teenagers like they may
become addicted to it. And this may lead to further damage to their mental health
as well as their social life. For example, it can lead to sleep disturbances in
teenagers, lack of concentration, and even depression and the excessive use of mobile
phones lead to depression because it interferes with their social activities, therefore
increasing depression.
