Hi, sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the work you have purchased. However, I received a pass for this piece of work, and a D*D*D* for the whole course, so the work is up to standards. The work is not there to be copied word for word, you must make suitable alterations before submitting.

Megan Middleton Explain the main factors affecting current patterns of ill health in the UK Unit 12 P4

Genetic

Genetic conditions stem from the presence or absence of a specific gene or gene combination.
Genetics and ill health are closely linked; some examples are below:

 Sickle-cell anaemia affects the bodies haemoglobin which is the molecule in red blood cells
that delivers oxygen to cells in the body. Individuals with this disorder have something called
‘atypical haemoglobin’ this can alter red blood cells into a sickle or crescent shape. The
individual suffering from this will experience things such as;
 Pain
 Infections
 Delayed growth
 Vision problems
 Hand-foot syndrome

An individual suffering from sickle cell anaemia will be excluded from social situations due to their
level of pain and the amount of hospital visits required to manage the disorder. Vision issues will
also require the individual to have someone around to assist the affected induvial, this may take
away their privacy and independence.

Sickle cell disease mainly affects people of the following backgrounds;

 African
 Caribbean
 Middle eastern
 Eastern Mediterranean
 Asian

There is a 25% chance of a child inheriting sickle cell disease if both parents have this faulty gene
