Applicant must meet following standards: Minimum age requirements: --21 yoa, or 18 with an associates degree/60 sem hours --honorable discharge from the military For jailers and communicators 18 yoa Minimum education requirements: -GED or HS Diploma -Honorable Discharge from the military -Is fingerprinted and criminal records search -No court-ordered community supervision or probation for criminal offense higher than Class B Misdemeanor w/in last 10 years of date of court order -not currently charged w/ any criminal offense that would be a bar to licensure -never been convicted higher than a Class B Misdemeanor or a Class B Misdemeanor w/in last 10 years -never convicted or placed on community supervision for family violence -Is not prohibited from having a driver's license or firearm -background investigation completed by the enrolling or appointing entity into the applicant's personal history.
