1. CEREBRUM
De cortex (hersenschors) bevat belangrijk deel grijze stof van cerebrum
Op aantal plaatsen in witte stof worden kernen grijze hersenstof gevonden (thalamus…)
Fylogenetische onderverdeling:
A. Allocortex (ouder deel):
- Archicortex: in hypocampus en gyrus dentatus, 3-LAGIG
- Paleocortex: gevormd door reukcortex, 3- tot 5-LAGIG
B. Iso-/neocortex (nieuwer deel): enkel bij zoogdieren, bij mens sterk ontwikkeld (ong. 90% vd
cerebrale cortex). 6-LAGIG
Neuronen in cerebrale cortex in kolommen verdeeld. Hoogte = dikte cortex.
Kolommen met breedte 0,5mm → functionele eenheid
Columnaire organisatie = kolom geprikkeld door afferente prikkels; alle cellen in deze kolom worden
geprikkeld.
1.1. Cytoarchitectuur van de neocortex
Cortex onderverdeeld in area’s via Brod-mann verdeling (52 area’s) o.b.v. neurontype, aantal en
specifieke schikking.
Verschillen tussen area’s niet voldoende specifiek om microscopisch te herkennen zonder kennis
plaats biopt.
2 speciefieke corticale area’s wel voldoende kenmerken van anderen: primaire motorische (area 4) en
primaire visuele cortex (area 17).
Dikte neocortex: 1,5 mm tot 4,5 mm
, I. Lamina molecularis/plexiformis
- vlak onder pia mater
- celarm: uitlopers cellen uit diepere lagen
- vezels lopen parallel aan oppervlak
- neuronen: horizontale cellen van Cajal.
- axon van cel van Cajal horizontaal en maakt synaps met dendrieten van piramidale cellen
II. Lamina granularis externa
- kleine piramidale: hoe dieper, hoe groter & apicale dendrieten die lopen naar opp. hersens
- stellaire cellen
- lateraal: dendrieten die horizontaal lopen
- basaal: axon naar diepere lagen toe
III. Lamina piramidalis externa
- middelgrote piramidale cellen: axon naar witte hersenstof
- cellen van Martinotti (ook in diepere lagen): klein en multipolair met korte dendrieten en
axon dat stijgt naar laag 1 (hier vertakt het T-vormig en loopt horizontaal)
IV. Lamina granularis interna
- stellaire cellen: dicht bij elkaar gelegen
- externe band van Baillarger: dense band door veel horizontaal lopende axonen. Zeer
prominent in primaire visuele cortex (hier stria van Gennari genoemd)
V. Lamina piramidalis interna
- cellen van Betz: grote piramidale cellen. Opvallend sterk ontwikkeld in primaire motorische
cortex (gyrus precentralis). Tot 120 microm. groot. Uppermotorneuronen.
- interne band van Baillarger
VI. Lamina multiformis
- verschillende types neuronen
- fusiforme cellen: loodrecht op hersenschors. Axon ontspringt zijdelings op cellichaam en
loopt naar lamina 1.
In alle lagen komen ook gliacellen voor. Afferente zenuwvezels ( waarvan cellichamen ergens anders
liggen in CZS) maken synaps hoog in cortex met dendrieten van efferente neuronen (waarvan
cellichamen liggen in diepere lagen van cortex).
