,Abstract
Dit onderzoek richt zich op het in kaart brengen van de interne strengths en weaknesses en de
externe opportunities en threats door middel van literatuuronderzoek van His Majesty’s Prison
Service (HMPS). Binnen dit onderzoek wordt de gebruikte literatuur toegepast in de vorm van
een SWOT-analyse.
Naar aanleiding van de SWOT-analyse komen er twee grote problemen naar voren van
de organisatie: COVID-19 en het werknemerstekort. Door COVID-19 zijn er niet alleen nieuwe
bedreigingen ontstaan voor HMPS, maar zijn ze ook gedwongen om zich op technologisch
gebied verder te ontwikkelen. Daarnaast zijn we erachter gekomen dat het werknemerstekort een
groot intern probleem is voor HMPS, dat zowel vanuit intern als extern gebied beïnvloed wordt.
Uiteindelijk moet HMPS ervoor zorgen dat ze meer kundige bewakers in dienst hebben.
Een manier om dit te bereiken is om het werk aantrekkelijker te maken door middel van
loonstijgingen.
