Results of Examination
1 - The examination of the bullets concluded the bullets found on the scene did not relate to
the same gun, this is because upon examination the manufacturer number on the guns
came from two different companies.
2 - The hair strands returned that they were brown hair strands from undyed hair, after
putting them under a microscope and analysing them.
3 - The results concluded there were partial fingerprint evidence found on the pieces of
broken glass.
5 - The handwriting note was tested using offender profile analysis and the results came
back that concluded a number of things about the potential character of the author, with
things such as that he is a very closed off person, as well as having trouble connecting with
others, alongside this you can also tell that they have strong emotions.
6 - The lipstick was found to have the same pink pigments used for the lipstick on the
clothing, therefore you can link these two pieces of evidence together. Furthermore, the
chromatography revealed shades of red within the lipstick, which was then linked to the
brand ‘MAC’.
7 - The handwriting in the envelope revealed the same results as exhibit number 5, the
envelope was also tested for fingerprints using both iodine beading and ninhydrin spray, and
yielded results that fingerprints were present. The fingerprint testing then further revealed
that (by analysing the different features of the fingerprint), it was in fact the same as exhibit
number 3, concluding they are from the same person.
8 - The results revealed that the substance was baking powder, using the boiling point of
254 degrees Celsius, as tested by collecting the substance in a capillary tube and using the
melting point, and then finding the substance with the same melting point.
9 - The testing done on this revealed that there is in fact blood present and the substance is
blood.
10 - The testing done on these using presumptive testing also concluded that blood was
present.
11 - The hair was found to have also been brown undyed hair, which is straight (in no means
curly).
