Task 1Stand-Alone PC is a computer which does not need a network connecton this means that it’s self-
sufficient. As internet connecton is not requiuired for the computer’s neneral use as it has the apps
installed and they most likely do not requiuire internet connecton to functon properly. Good functon
of such computer would be a quiueston tablets which are available at certain receptons those tablets
sole purpose is to ask you a quiueston which the customer answers thus they do not need to connect
to the internet however they could as this would mean they could automatcally pull the data onto
the server which could than calculate quiueston results.
Peer-2-Peer (P2P) is a protocol which allows to
distributon data between multple peer’s. Good
example would be sharinn folders between computer
in Nescot collene another nreat example of Peer to
Peer beinn used is in torrentnn sooware such as
uTorrent. Each peer has the same privilene thus
allowinn all the computers to download the data at
similar speeds as lonn as they have similar network
environments.
What’s IP?
Internet Protocol it’s a set of rules which are used for communicatnn across network, without this
protocol there would be no Internet as we know today. IP has a task of deliverinn the informaton
from source to destnaton usinn only IP addresses. IP allows to address hosts, encapsulate data into
datanrams and route data form one destnaton to another.
Server Domain Networks is a form of computer network where computers are renistered to a
domain controller which controls the network. This type of network is nenerally used in enterprises
and schools as they can control their users more efficiently when everythinn is centralized.
Network Protocols are the set of rules which control how the internet communicates, nood example
of it is TCP and UDP which are transmission protocols. Once the applicaton is desinned to use them
they dictate how the traffic will be transmited by beinn implemented as a standard in the networks.
Some of the characteristcs of TCP is that it checks the data makinn sure it’s correct whereas UDP
doesn’t check the data as it would rather no for speed. Thus, it’s very useful in networkinn where
camera is handled as video can be handled more rounhly.
What’s BIOS, Kernel and OS?
OS is installed on HDD or SDD by CD, DVD or USB fash drive, When the computer starts it frst loads
computer loads BIOS also known as Basic Input and output system which is responsible for checkinn
if hardware components are respondinn and workinn by testnn it and load operatnn system either
from dvd-rom, hard drive or USB drive than BIOS loads kernel which is starts mananinn the hardware
and all of the tasks Operating system also known as OS is a very important sooware which ooen
takes around 1-20nb of hard drive space, Operatnn System is responsible for mananinn the
resources of your computer and communicaton with the hardware by translatnn the user’s actons
into machine lannuane which allows the hardware to understand it, furthermore operatnn system
allows you to install applicatons as it’s a platorm which does all of the work in the backnround.
