Artwork that can be distorted or that can simply object matter, but in which the source of the subject matter remains recognizable is called abstract art. There are three different degrees of abstract art, those being:
Changed
Altered
Exaggerated
Artwork that does NOT start or refer to the physical world is called nonrepresentational art . It is
also referred to as non-objective art. Their “subject matter” can be about things like color, form, pattern, spirituality, etc.

Movement was added by making the Mona Lisa’s shoulders do not line up on both side, which suggests that her shoulders shift as we view her.
