1.B Norm-Reference assessment
This form assessment is designed to evaluate how learners compare or rank to other learners.
This form of assessment helps the educator to gage whether the test taker has performed
better or worse than the hypothetical average student. The benchmark or average is
determined by learners of the same grade or level who have already completed the exam the
year before.

A rubric divides an assignment into its different parts and objectives and provides detailed

be allocated accordingly to indicate if the learner has surpassed, achieved or partially achieved
the expected learning instructions. They can be used to grade any assignment or task, for
example, portfolios, book reviews or research papers, to mention just a few.
