How long in advance do you need to submit a request to renew a license before tattooing services are provided? - 20 days unless otherwise approved by office. How much notice is required before services are performed when changing work location? - At least 24 hours. When do you need to renew your tattoo license? - PRIOR to license entering inactive status. How long can your license be inactive for? - Up to 3 years How do you renew your license if it has expired? - You don't. You reapply and meet initial requirements for licensure. How many hours of continuing education do you need per year? - 10 hours What kind of education do you need to be considered "continuing education" - 5 hours by participation or attendance at a course provided by approved facilities, 5 hours self study What topics can you study for continuing education? - Laws and rules regulating licensed artists, safety and sterilization, color theory, design, art and placement, client services, and business operations What is not eligible for continuing education credits? - CPR training, First Aid, and Blood borne pathogens because these are conditions of the license.
