immunity to Joe, in the case, encompasses procedural issues that enable the police to obtain

known felon, whose previous arrests were associated with buying stolen property. The police

granted him transactional immunity if he attempted to purchase stolen jewelry from one of the

stores. The police believe Joe committed a minor crime and would be compelled to testify

against someone with a more significant offense, in this case, Jerry. Joe informs the police of

Jerry's sale of jewelry at a fair price. A state or federal prosecutor decides the person who

receives immunity, which is granted for various crimes ranging from minor to severe offenses.
