PPROM - Answer-Preterm premature rupture of membranes (before 37 weeks), likely d/t infection, previous history of PPROM, hydramnios, multiple pregnancy, UTI, amniocentesis, placenta previa, abruptio placentae, trauma, cervical insufficiency, bleeding during pregnancy, and maternal genital tract anomalies. Chorioamnionitis - Answer-Bacterial infection of the amniotic membranes (chorion - outer, amnion - inner) surrounding the fetus. S/S - fever, tachycardia (mom/baby), tender or painful uterus, vaginal discharge with an unpleasant smell or unusual color, sweating.
