This legislation gives a police officer the power to direct the occupier or any person who is contributing to cease making the offensive noise, this includes if offensive noise has emitted from the premises anytime within the past 7 days. S277 relates to the contravention of the noise abatement direction, the person who the direction applies to, must cease immediately the offensive noise, as well as cannot cause offensive noise at anytime within 28 days after the direction.
