What do we use religious experience for? - Answer>>They are
often used to prove the existence of God and there are two main
arguments people use to do this and this is Richard Swinburne
cumulative argument and the inductive argument.
What is the inductive argument? - Answer>>Making a logical
conclusion of something based on experience and premises.
These are developed by scientific laws and we use it in our
everyday lives.
We can use this to prove God through religious experience
because if we experience God and it is possible to do this then it
must mean God is real. If there is no other evidence to suggest
that they are wrong then God must exist.
What are the problems with the inductive argument? -
Answer>>The problem with a posterior arguments is that it is
based on our experience which could always be wrong so saying
that we experience X only makes its existence probable.
Also for Kant God is something that is beyond our knowledge so
how can we prove something existence that is wholly other?
What is the calculative argument? - Answer>>As more
evidence is added to the argument for God existence for religious
experience we see that it makes the argument for God existence
even more probable. The likelihood that all the thousands of
people who have religious experience are lying or there are other
explanations is low. This means that there is more evidence in
favor for the existence of God.
