AMNIOCENTESIS
 Analyse fetal cells & dissolved substances
from amniotic fluids
 Technique used to check for genetic
disorders such as Down’s syndrome,
hemophilia, sickle cell anemia etc.
 Statutory ban on this technique in India
to prevent female foeticide.
