An official court reporter/recorder is... - answer a

Duties and Responsibilities of Court Operator -

The operator is responsible for producing a record
of all proceedings in the court to which they have
been assigned. The record consists of properly
labeled tapes or compact disks (CDs) along with
log notes and other accompanying information that
the transcriber need to produce a complete and
accurate typed transcript of the proceedings.

log of the proceedings. It is mandatory that the
operator has the headphones on at all times and
that the operator listens to the recordings, not the
source.

written (handwritten, typed, or system-generated)
log of events in the proceedings. In general, log
