Hemophilia ~ Several hereditary bleeding disorders. Symptoms include prolonged bleeding, especially into joint cavities (hemearthrosis). What can cause DIC? ~ Sepsis, incompatible blood transfusions, or complications in pregnancy. Differential WBC count ~ The proportion of each WBC count. What do prothrombin time and platelet counts assess? ~ They measure hemostasis which is important for surgeries. What does a CMP (comprehensive medical panel) show? ~ It shows the blood chemistry profile that checks various blood chemical levels. Abnormal results could indicate liver or kidney disorders.
