Psychology title - answer- Not engage in terms psychological, psychologist, psychology
unless licensed by the board. Does not apply to volunteer health providers.
Not included in practice of psychology - answer- 1.Person in the employ of the federal
government
2.Persons who are teaching psychology, conducting psychological research, providing
consultation services to organizations or institutions, providing expert testimony as long
as these activities do not involve direct psychological services.
3. Persons licensed, certified, or registered under other provisions of the KY law or use
of behavioral/symptomatic assessments by other licensed mental health providers (as
long as they don't use the word psychological)
4. Activities of a student, intern, or resident in psychology attending an accredited
program
5. Educational activities of teachers in accredited institutions, guidance counselors, or
vocational testing
6. Credentialed as school psychologists (if restricted to educational setting)
7.Clergy
8.Nonresident temporarily employed for no more than 30 days every 2 years if holding a
current IPC
Board of Examiners - answer- 1. Composed of 9 members appointed by the Governor:
2 certified psychologists, licensed psychological practitioners, or licensed psychological
associates. 1 community citizen.
2. Licensed psychologists will be selected from 3 nominees prepared by KPA. Licensed
for 3 years in the state.
3. Master's provider appointed by governor from 3 nominees recommended by KPA
licensed for at least 3 years
4. Term of at least 4 years or until a successor is appointed. Shall not serve more than 2
consecutive terms. Governor will fill any vacancies. Members can be removed at
majority vote of board
,5. 5 members constitute a quorum. Members receive $100 per day for attending each
meeting and reimbursement of expenses. Chairpersons are elected annually for 1 year
term. No person shall serve more than 2 consecutive full terms as chair. Board will meet
twice annually and as needed. Special meetings may be called by chair or upon the
written request of 2 members.
Annual report - answer- June 30, the board will submit a written report to the governor
of new licenses approved, cases heard and decisions

Administrative responsibilities of board - answer- 1. Establish requirements, standards,

providers cannot assess doctoral candidates.

3. Requirements for issuing, denying, suspending, restricting, and revoking licenses and
implementing probation
4. Developing sexual misconduct guidelines.
5. Requiring training for professional sexual misconduct
6. CE requirements, not to exceed 39 hours per 3 year period
7.Establishing fees for directories, transcription, transferring records, other services
8.Conducting hearings as needed
9.Establishing reciprocal agreements with other states
10.Employing personnel, including hearing officers
11.Investigating complaints/violations
12. Governing supervision of master's providers
13. Other administrative regulations
14. May purchase liability insurance for members and officers, inspectors, examiners,
investigators, and staff
,LP requirements - answer- 1. Pass EPPP at doctoral level
2. Pay a fee not to exceed $300
3. Acceptable doctoral degree from regionally accredited institution.
4. At least 2 years of supervised professional experience, one of which is an internship
5. Complete examination on psychological practice, ethical principles, law
Exam Fee - answer- 1.Fee not to exceed $300
2. Doctoral degree acceptable to board from regionally accredited institution
3. Pass EPPP at doctoral level (500)
4. 2 years of supervised professional experience, 1 year of internship.
Temporary Licensure - answer- 1. Applicant may practice under supervision after being
invited to sit for exam.
2. 60 days under supervision
3. After 2 years of supervision, will be examined on psychological practice, ethical
principles, and law
4. Exams will be graded; kept for 1 year. Discussed with written request
5. License and permission to use Licensed psychologist
Licensed psychologists - answer- 1. Function independently
2. Health service provider may employ and supervise certified psychologists and
licensed psychological associates.
3. May supervise no more than 6 supervisees at one time.
Health service provider - answer- 1. Psychologists who completed 1 year of supervised
experience under temporary licensure or who completed 1 year of supervised
experience after becoming a licensed psychologist.
2. Completed one additional year of supervised experience in health care delivery
May provide supervision of other applicants and trainees
, 3. May supervise no more than 6 master's level providers at one time.
Licensed psychological practitioner - answer- 1. Performs certain functions within
practice of psychology without supervision
2. 3 letters of endorsement to sit for exam (1 from supervisor of record 2 from licensed
mental health professionals)
3. Fee not to exceed $200
4. At least 60 hours of graduate study in psych
Completion of 5 years of supervised professional experience.
5. No disciplinary action by board.
6. Pass EPPP at doctoral level (500)
7.Pass exam on psych practice, ethical principals, law.
8.Remain supervised until successful completion of requirements of licensure for LPP
9.Board will grade and keep exams for 1 year. Shared at written request.
10. Shall not supervise certified psychologists, licensed psychological practitioners, or
licensed psychological associates.
Certified psychologist with autonomous functioning - answer- 1. May choose to keep
title or change to licensed psychological practitioner.
2. May continue to practice without supervision unless board revokes license. WIll not
supervise master's level.
3. May continue to function under supervision
4. May perform certain functions within the practice of psychology only under
supervision of a LP; shall not employ other certified psychologists, licensed
psychological practitioners, or licensed psychological associates.
Psychological Associate - answer- 1. Master's degree; license to perform certain
functions within the practice of psychology
2. $300 license fee
3. Master's degree from acceptable school
4. Passed an exam procedure
