- Realized every plant has different needs and that it also served its purpose ; not
everything is in your control but i know put all into this

adaptable and know that I did my very best to provide care to that patient

physiology courses
( integrative physiology, cardiorespiratory physiology, endocrine physiology)

Tell me about a time you succeeded outside of academics. What was something you
did outside of your academics that you were proud of? - Answer-Having the courage to
move out of my parent's house
- I moved for my own mental health reasons, I needed to take care of myself and I felt
the best way was to remove myself from that space
- My parents were not supportive, did not speak to me for months.
- IT was very shocking and bold of me to do so
- I definitely challenged their traditional beliefs for the sake of my own wellbeing.

Tell me about a time you surprised yourself. - Answer-Having the courage to start
therapy
- It was always hard for me to ask for help, I grew up being taught to figure it out on my
own and if I was struggling I was considered weak
- I never knew talk therapy was something I needed and I had a lot of pride that
deterred against it
- Once I started, I never knew how good it has done for me. Taught me self-awareness,
my tendencies, my stressors and how I can over come them.
The deeper I got to know myself, the more understanding and patience I had for others.
I can apply these qualities as a practicing PA .

day lectures ( 8am-5pm)

1960s during the time of a shortage of primary phys
- Corpsmen and the navy were coming home from the war looking for a job --> perfect
students to learn the fast-tracking training of doctors during WW2
- THus Started by Dr. Eugene Stead Jr. from Duke University - recruited Navy Medics
and had their first PA class graduate in 1967
- Since then the PA career has been growing

What is the difference between the medical and nursing model? - Answer-Medical
model --> provider is mean to diagnose and treat; based on disease and patient care is
determined w/ goal for patient improvement

Nursing model --> holistic approach to ensure a patients' daily needs are met. -NPs are
trained initially in this model in nursing school, then a medical model in NP school

Both are important within the healthcare field and to provide high quality care

What is the difference between a PA & NP? - Answer-- Duties and roles are similar
- Schooling is different
-PAs are trained as generalists and can practice medicine in any specialty and treat any
population regardless of race or gender
- NPs are usually trained to serve a specific popultation such as in Family Medicine,
Pediatric Medicine, Women's Health, etc.
