What do i do if an organised rhythm is seen immediately following defibrillation? -
Correct Answer continue CPR for 2 mins! Do not stop to palpate for pulse.

What are the only times when you would interrupt CPR? - Correct Answer Shock,
rhythm checks and insertion of advanced airway, but not for more than 10 secs.

At what point is adrenaline given in the shock able protocol? - Correct Answer After the
second shock followed by 20 ml flush of Normal Saline. subsequently given every
second loop. note different timing of administration for shock able vs non shock able.

At what point is Amiodorone given and how much is given? - Correct Answer On
shockable side. 300 mg iv in 20 mls of Dextrose. after 3rd shock. Side effect can cause
hypotention, hence given after defibrillation and administratioin of a vasopressor. May
be repeated for refractory VF/VT 150mg iv and then infusion: 900mg over 24 hours.

Why do we not stop CPR if rhythm is seen immediately following defibrillation? - Correct
Answer It is rare for pulse to be present so soon. Even if it is continuing, CPR does not
induce VF/VT.
