portion of the adrenal gland) to release corticosteroids.




Resistance/Adaptive Phase

:~~ Allostasis is essentially the activation of these stress responses to evoke

changes that return the organism to homeostasis.

would suffer undue wear and tear and become subject to permanent damage and
