biological vs. radiological)? Yes, personal protective equipment is essential to use when being
exposed to certain illness or situations. There are several different PPE precaution requirements
depending on the type of situation one is going to be dealing with. Using PPE protects and
minimizes ones exposure to potentially harmful diseases/illnesses.
2. Triage is a system of sorting patients according to medical need when resources are not
available for treatment. What are the levels of triage and give an example.
Emergent or class I – red tag, immediate threat to life (airway obstruction, shock)
Urgent or class II – yellow tag, major injuries that require treatment (open fractures, large
wounds)
Nonurgent or class III – green tag, minor injuries that do not require immediate treatment.
(Closed fractures, contusions, sprains, abrasions)
Expectant or class IV – black tag, expected and allowed to die (massive head trauma, full
thickness body burns, high cervical spinal cord injury) (Ignatavicius et al., 2018)

The nurse did not acknowledge the patient’s increasing agitation and did not know how to
correctly approach someone who is hostile and deescalate them. It is important that nurses and
