- Answer-bumps on forehead is usually - folliculitis and Open and Closed Comedomes?
Recommend Nizoral Shampoo- use as directed every 3 days can use other NON-
fragrance shampoo or maybe tea tree shampoo on other days; can use conditioner.
make sure they wash face, back and Chest with their recommended cleanser after
rinsing out conditioner. the nizoral can be found on amazon. it has Anti fungal ingredient
which is way better than the other anti- dandruff shampoos. even if they don't have
dandruff, they still have the bumps. the shampoo is KEY. ask the client how often they
wash their hair. do they play in sports? many times the answer is they wash every other
day. when in sports, washing every day is critical.

/.0-10 scale - Answer-"Zero is like I just put water on your skin. 10 is like you touched a
hot stove. Five is where it starts to be uncomfortable, like you kind of wish this wasn't on
your skin." When they need more than that I say, "one is where you know it's not water
but it isn't doing much or it just feels cool. Two is where you notice something is
happening but you aren't sure what. Three is it is starting to tingle or itch. Four is it is
pretty tingly. Five is okay I'm not really liking this. Six is how long do I have to wear this?
Seven is that burns. Eight is get this off me now! Nine is jumping off the table and 10 is
get me to the ER."

/.1 -10 scale - Answer-I would also go over what the scale of 1-10 means, in terms you
both agree on. For my clients:

1-2 means they feel "something" but very mild.

3-4 means they feel activity, like it's "working", but not uncomfortable.

5-6 is strong activity, uncomfortable but not painful.

7-8 is painful.

9-10 is unbearable.

/.3 components of acne - Answer-Dead skin cells, sebum and bacteria

/.3 components of acne and benzoyl peroxide - Answer-Benzyl peroxide does
something for the three components of acne - dead skin cells, sebum and bacteria. It is
drying so it helps with the excess sebum and it is a peroxide and the bacteria's are
anaerobic so they hate all the extra oxygen. But the real magic is it makes the dead skin
cells not sticky so the plugs don't form in the first place. You use AcneMed all over to
prevent breakouts from having a chance to form, but you spot treat with it to get the
other wonders going on existing lesions.

,/.80/20 rule - Answer-The Pareto Principle suggests that the majority of things in life are
not distributed evenly. Rather, some make a greater contribution than others. Hence the
80/20 rule.

Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto observed that 80% of his country's wealth belonged to
a mere 20% of its population and that 20% of the pea plants in his garden yielded 80%
of peas. Pareto's Principle has since been shown to carry over to countless other areas
of life in which the most significant outcomes derive from the minority of proportional
efforts. This means that you should observe that 80% of your actual results come from
20% of your efforts... this translates to the same theory in your skin health journey.

Accountability, consistency, and focus are key to maintaining beauty and vitality.
Everything you see on the outside from wrinkles to acne and eczema is due to a
systemic imbalance issue that starts on the inside; often in the gut. The sooner you
come to terms with this, the sooner you can start to address the root cause(s) and heal.

Your most focused effort and long-term "bang for your buck" will be had to get your
eating habits, food allergies, digestion, water, and supplementation nailed down. Then
create a systemized and reproducible routine out of your new body awareness for life.

/.Accutane - Answer-Accutane is not a cure for acne because it does not get to the root
cause of why your acne is happening.
Up to 60% of people taking Accutane get acne again.
Accutane can help get rid of acne in the short term. For many people Accutane is not a
long term or long lasting cure.

/.Accutane - Answer-Accutane or oral Isottretinoin dramatically turns down the volume
of your sebum making glands. It shrinks them. Puts them to sleep.
This fact is why a very common side effect of Accutane is chronically dry, cracked, red
and irritated skin.

/.Accutane - Answer-Danielle Roper yes but in a healthy, non medicated situation,
sebum is continuously produced, therefor feeding the c. acne's causing them to multiply
exponentially. If this nutrient source is cut off(with accurate),it could have the ability to
mitigate the full formation process, albeit not indefinitely but potentially while Accutane
is in the system. Still not as quickly as a week, but potentially quicker than our process.
Kind of like a leaking pipe. If you just turn the water off, the leak goes away. Quick fix.
But once you turn the water back on there's the leak again. Opposed to actually fixing
the pipe which will give it a more successful and sustainable result. (MBK Veronique

,/.Accutane - Answer-Frances Casey Parker does mom know that Accutane is a chemo
drug? It is also an immune suppressent. It also alters her body chemistry for life. Acne
often comes back with a vengeance as the root cause of her daughter's acne is not
addressed. There is no magic pill for acne and it doesn't go away for life. Good luck with
Mommy Dearest!

/.Accutane and the gut - Answer-I don't have specific literature on post-Accutane usage.
What many people don't know is it is a chemotherapy drug used off-label for acne. We
know many cancer survivors have issues post-chemotherapy and it's treated as a "new
normal". ALL Rx's and OTC medications suppress the immune system and disrupt the
gut and long-term uses will cause further disruption and nutritional deficiencies. We
know many people with acne already have a reactive immune system, GI issues, and
nutritional deficiencies so when they take any Rx or OTC medications for acne it only
makes matters worse. 80% of our immune system is in the gut.

/.Accutane is an analog of which vitamin? - Answer-

/.Accutane post protocol treatment - Answer-Mary Lynn he needs to be on more
hydrating products than you stated above for hydration, its not enough, and of corse
include sunscreen thick and often. Tell him he needs a home humidifier if he lives in a
normal to dry area for his house and one for his bedroom. Also needs to drink a gallon
of water daily and be on a non-inflammatory/acne diet like paleo no dairy with good
fats/omega 3's. In a few weeks, as long as he is very hydrated introduce actives very
slowly *if* he has any acne, otherwise nothing, no actives. Skin after need hydration, not
to get dry by active products. Only use non-active products until he has acne again.
Nothing that would make him dryer is the best way to push it off as long as possible. I've
seen terrible keloid scarring over the years, caused by Accutane, I think clients are
more prone because the whole body gets so dry and stays dry.

Mary Lynn I am a big believer in Microneedling when it comes to scarring. It's not
something I can do in my office so I refer them out. Cora Nelson offered perfect advice
with hydration & diet. Hydrated skin always heals and repairs itself quicker.

/.Acne graduate - Answer-I am declaring you and Acne program graduate because we
have achieved your skin goals! You'll now enter into maintenance mode, which means
we'll begin to space treatments out from every two weeks to four weeks. Eventually the
goal is to space treatments out quarterly. You'll still remain on your product routine as it
is now, but overtime will make minor adjustments to ensure we are maintaining clear
and healthy skin long term!

/.Acne management and expectations of clearing - Answer-Nope, I tell clients perfection
is not the goal with their skin! It's normal to get a breakout here or there, especially with
their period or times of higher stress or major life changes. The goal is that their acne is
managed to the point of the breakouts being rare occurrences, the breakouts are
smaller/less inflamed, and heal faster than what they used to experience.

, /.Acne med - Answer-I increase from 5-10% at about 6 weeks when clients are not
clearing on 5% and are also not sensitive and NOT experiencing excessive dryness.
Hi Lindsay Edwards, Acne Med 10% is reserved for clients that experience severe
inflamed acne and is also utilized in the homecare regimen for back acne, since the
back is generally more tolerant of stronger actives. If you have a client that is currently
on Acne Med 5%, but still struggles with some inflammation and isn't clearing as fast, I
would ask a few questions before bumping up to Acne Med 10%:

-How is their skin feeling? Are they experiencing dryness or dehydration? If yes, I would
not increase Acne Med.
-Are they consistently using their Acne Med, every single night? If not, I would not
increase Acne Med.
-Are they done performing the timed schedule of Acne Med and now wearing it
overnight?-If not, I would wait until they are wearing it overnight and even then, give it
some time (atleast 2 months) before increasing it to AM 10%.
-Is there an opportunity to increase the percentage of their exfoliating serum? For
example, have they been using Mandelic 5% and it may be appropriate to increase to
Mandelic 8%?

Many times, when clients are using Acne Med 5%, but still struggling with clearing, you
can incorporate Acne Wash (inflamed) or Acne Scrub (non-inflamed) or you can
introduce Sulfur Spot Treatment to address any lingering inflamed areas before
increasing their Acne Med to a higher percentage. Acne Med 10% is pretty strong and
can be a bit drying if the client isn't necessarily experiencing severe inflamed acne or
tends to have dry or more mature skin. Should you every need additional assistance
when questioning whether to bump a client up, feel free to reach out to the Acne Expert
Success Team and we can send you the Protocol Support Request Form and help

/.Acne med - Answer-Keep in mind, Acne Med does a beautiful job of peeling inside the
impacted pore & softening non-inflamed impactions for better/easier extractions.

/.Acne med - Answer-Maria Gomez , I've had clients on acne med for over 10 years. It
keeps them shedding. Acne is a shedding disease. Granted they might not wear it
nightly. But for sure at least weekly.

/.Acne med - Answer-Strengthen acne med for inflammation flare ups

/.Acne med -When only introducing 1 active, which one? - Answer-I would do acne
meds first especially since she's a fits 4. Acne meds can help to desensitize the skin
when the skin is too sensitive. I often have my sensitive clients wait 2-4 weeks before
starting them on any of the serums. Acne meds will help clean the sludge out of the
pore and oxygenate it killing the bacteria that causes inflammation.
