be utilized in psychotherapy. The assessments I have selected include the PHQ-9 which is the
patient health questionnaire, Risk Assessment, MSE which is the Mental Status Examination,
and the MMPI-3 which is the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (Caroll &
McGinley, 2000). I have selected these assessments to assist with establishing a background
and patient history as well as to assess the patient's current mental state and risk of violence
both to others and self. Having a background establishes if the patient has had psychotherapy
in the past as well as if they have been formally diagnosed during previous psychotherapy
sessions. This tool is useful when creating a treatment plan. MMPI-3 The personality
assessment MMPI-3 is used to evaluate personality traits as well as psychopathology in
adults. It is utilized in clinical forensic and research settings by mental health professionals.
The MMPI-3 assists in diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, forensic assessments, and
decision-making in legal contexts. In psychotherapy, this will be a useful tool in determining
which mental illness is present if any. This assessment is used in several different settings
