Motion with Constant AccelerationPurpose: The purpose of this lab is to observe how an object’s position and velocity change while it is moving
with a constant acceleration
Question: how does an objects position and velocity change as the object accelerates
Hypothesis: if the fan speed increases, then the acceleration of the cart increases, because a greater fan
speed supplies more energy to move the cart.
Variables: independent variable: the fan speed
Dependent variable: the acceleration of the cart
Constant variable: the mass of the object
Summary: i used an online simulation to measure the position and velocity of a cart as it accelerates along
different materials with different friction surfaces. I completed 3 trials using low, medium, and high fan speeds
to move the cart, then calculated the average velocity for each fan speed. I also calculated the acceleration of
the cart using a velocity vs. time graph.
