Residential Life at Barnard 1 - answerHousing is guaranteed for first-year students for
all 4 years and over 90% of students live on-campus. Residential Life contributes

revolves around the First-Year Focus program, which coordinates a variety of "extended
orientation" programming throughout the academic year. Some examples of these are

Sulzberger, Reid, and Brooks Halls, where they will live in either a double, triple, or
quad style room, while upper-class students are housed in Brooks and Hewitt Halls.
These are all traditional corridor/hallway-style residence halls. After their first year,
students enter a lottery system, and they have the option of living in an apartment
building, corridor, or suite-style residence facilities. All residence halls at Barnard are
smoke free, as is the entire Barnard Campus
