When a psychologist places his license on Inactive Status vs. Expirationof License, what does the psychologist need to do to reactivate the
license? - ANSWER A psychologist who places his/her license on
Inactive status must sumbit the fees and 36 CE credits. The psychologist
DOES NOT need to take the EPPP or the CPLEE when they place their
license on INACTIVE status.
A psychologist who had been licensed in California and allowed his/her
license to EXPIRE, the psychologist would need to submit the fees and
take and pass the CPLEE
Can the psychologist claim the privilege when there is no holder of the
privilege in existence? - ANSWER The psychotherapist is generally
required to claim privilege when the patient-therapist communication is
sought to be disclosed; however, the therapist may not claim privilege if
there is no holder of privilege in existence, or if the therapist is instructed
by a person authorized to permit disclosure.
