Why Dentistry? - answerVariety of reasons/factors:
After getting to know diff professions through volunteer/work, i realized my desire
- to work with my hands in creative environment, dentistry would be the best fit for me.
Even now, working as a dental assistant and being able to assist in
- dental procedures is really fascinating to me, because i get to observe and tend to the
patients after the procedure as well. Additionally, I love that i'll have the
- continuity of care as soon as I start practicing - establishing relationship with my
patients and getting to know them as their provider and confidante.
- GRANDMA
Strengths? - answerCompassionate (GMB, other community outreach);
Cultural competence (traveled to other countries whether for leisure/internships abroad);
Team player (as a leader, need to be team player - knowing when to step down to allow
better xc of ideas - as VP of GMB - invite feedback from gen members to modulate our
behaviors and actions)
Strong work ethic - perseverance
, - leader (elected team leader/mgr for many projs at KGI)
- goal oriented/perseverance (checklist person, writing down goals, checking them off -
persevere towards my goals - overcoming UCSD adversity)
Weaknesses? - answerTaking on too many projs at once (learned my limitations and
learned to balance)
Sometimes, I spend more time than necessary on a task or take on tasks personally
that could easily be delegated to someone else. Although I've never missed a deadline,
it is still an effort for me to know when to move on to the next task, and to be confident
when assigning others work. (GMB Info sess video)
