There have been two areas of need identified:

● Students vaping in the restrooms

A1a. Areas of Need Explained

● The reason that students vaping in the restroom was identified as an area of

need is due to an increase in student usage of vapes in the restrooms at different

points throughout the school day and have also had to send students to the

hospital due to adverse reactions from vaping.

● The reason that lunch supervision was identified as an area of need is due to an

increase in physical altercations and safety issues. This is because of an

increase in the number of students at each lunch and the change in areas that

students are allowed to access during lunch due to the lift of COVID restrictions.

Students are able to eat in the lunchroom, commons, courtyard, and the band

courtyard as opposed to just the lunchroom and courtyard which the previous

supervision was based on.

A2. Addressing Needs

● To address the issue of vaping in the restrooms, campus supervisors will limit

which restrooms are open to the students throughout the day. For example, if the

English hall has no students during 4th period due to common planning, then the

English hall bathrooms will be closed for students during that time period. Also,

during peak times campus supervisors will monitor restrooms and limit the

number of students allowed in at a time.
