The performance problem I plan to evaluate in the workplace is communication. As a

teacher, it is frequently overwhelming with the amount of paperwork, parent communications,

addressing different students' academic needs, and meeting deadlines.


I have developed interventions to address communication in the workplace. The first

intervention I developed is a numbered checklist (see Appendix A). The numbered list will

address the performer's struggle to work well with someone else due to that person’s

communication style. The numbered list will expose the performers opportunities for growth.


The second intervention I will use is a checklist (see Appendix B). The job aid checklist

will help our performers tackle communication barriers by encouraging them to be more

thoughtful about how they communicate. This job aid will provide just enough information to

enable a worker to perform a task efficiently and successfully without special training or reliance

on memory (M. et al., 2012).


The Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model


The Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model helps users establish criteria for evaluating training

(M. et al., 2012). I chose the Kirkpatrick Evaluation model because its four levels of evaluation

target results that are easy to understand and adjust. Performance improvement practitioners

suggest that formative evaluation also be integrated with all four levels of Kirkpatrick’s

Evaluation Model (M. et al., 2012). I chose to integrate the formative evaluation because it is an

ongoing process for updating performance improvement even after it has been implemented in

the workplace.
