1. Rescue drug every 4 hours for 1-2 days

2. Restlessness NCLEX TIP
• S - Severe weather (cold)
3. Drowsiness
• S - Strenuous activity - NO need to avoid
Status Asthmaticus NCLEX TIP • Take meds before the exercise!
1. Endotracheal Intubation Drugs to AVOID
• N - NSAIDS Naproxen, Aspirin, ibuprofen, indomethacin,
& ketorolac
• N - Not good for Asthma
Diagnostics • B - Beta blockers
• PFT - pulm function test (not usually tested) • B - Blocked HR & lungs
• Propranolol (Inderal) = Non Selective
• Atenolol = Selective (cardio “Beta 1” selective)
