Unit 1: Self-Reflection

The article “Integrity in nursing students: A concept analysis”, Devine & (and

within sentence structure) Chin (2018) focuses on the concept of integrity including

honesty, ethical behavior and professionalism. I strongly agree that dishonesty in the

classroom and clinical setting can continue throughout professional practice, which can

be very dangerous. If a nurse cuts corners and says they did something that they didn’t

in fact do or assess they are risking patients’ safety. Both academic and professional

cheating is an ethical and moral problem. As per Rafati et al. (2020), the frequency of

clinical dishonesty among nursing students is high and needs attention. Due to the

mass amount of workload that nursing students receive and the pressure for success, I

believe that it is essential for teachers to teach effective coping strategies to deal with
