Task 1: Quantitative vs Qualitative Analysis Approaches in Mental Health Interventions
Investigate the varying approaches to decision-making in the context of developing mental health
interventions for UK youth and young adults by comparing and contrasting quantitative and qualitative
analysis methods.
Guidelines:
1. Select and describe three specific techniques from each category (quantitative and qualitative) that
are relevant to mental health research. These techniques might include statistical analysis, modelling
for quantitative methods, and interviews, focus groups, or thematic analysis for qualitative methods.
2. Emphasize techniques that are particularly relevant to mental health interventions, providing
examples from this sector.
3. Highlight circumstances under which qualitative analysis is more appropriate compared to
quantitative analysis, and vice versa, in the context of mental health.

4. Summarise the key points of your comparison in a table to clarify differences and applications of each
Social Media and Mental Health
Abstract
This study investigates how social media affects mental health and uses a mixed research
method to analyze both qualitative and quantitative data. Through secondary data analysis and
primary data collection, the study seeks to thread the social media use and its association with
the health indicators among teenagers. It is shown that social platforms provide opportunities for
social interaction and self-expression, but negative correlates of anxiety and depression emerge
when social media time is excessive. The writing consists of the two sides of the social media
effect, which are positive engagements and danger versus opportunities. Proposals are presented
in response to media for intervention to avoid adverse effects while promoting beneficial uses.

MEDIA & MENTAL HEALTH
Introduction
Social media's growing pervasive presence in everyday life has attracted researchers
interested in its psychological side effects (Zhang, Tang, and Liu, 2023). With the growth of
social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, serving as main channels of
communication, the intersection between social media use and mental health deserves an in-
depth investigation. This paper aims to separate the complex relations between social media
patterns and mental health issues, taking into consideration mostly the very active adolescents
and young adults who mostly include the demographic base of these platforms.
The study's significance is, however, highlighted by the increasing concerns about some
other studies related to social media usage crises among the youth. The question of whether
digital media is a catalyst for the decline in mental health or simply serves as a useful tool of
connectivity puts forward a complex scene for psychological and sociological analysis. This
paper tries to solve the complexity by exploring the effects of social media on anxiety levels,
depression, self-esteem, and general psychophysics state.
The purpose of this research is twofold, first, by utilizing empirical data and existing
literature to find similarities and trends and possibly establish the connection between social
media use and mental health variations in adolescents. Additionally, we will try to analyze the
ways through which social media impacts mental health, such as the role of individualism,
human connections, and self-expression. This dual view will be from two perspectives - one
emphasizing the risks that technology may pose to the psychology of the person while the other
highlighting the advantages that digital social interaction bring.
The thesis statement of the paper is that although social media is an effective tool that
allows people to be more sociable and connected as it increases their support systems, its abuse
