Research Study: How Infants and Toddlers React to Antisocial Others
1. Analyze the introduction section of the research study in about 50–100 words.
Include the following in your response:
• the title of the article
• the purpose of the study
• how the article’s introductory content is relevant and how it logically
leads into the study
"How Infants and Toddlers React to Antisocial Others" was the title of the article I
selected. This study sought to determine whether infants and toddlers responded
more favorably to sociable beings than to anti-social ones. The youngsters in the
study interacted with the sociable vs antisocial individual using puppets. Because
it provides a wealth of background knowledge about the developing brain and
how it may be capable of much more than most people realize, the introductory
material is pertinent to the research.
2. Analyze the method section of the research study in about 250–350 words.
Include the following in your response:
• the study’s method and design
• the study’s primary hypothesis and claim
• how the method and design align with the primary hypothesis to reach a
strong conclusion
• how the researchers made measurements and whether they were good
choices for the conceptual variables
• how the researchers obtained participants, how many participants there
were, and their characteristics
• the sampling characteristics (sample size, strategy, composition, etc.)
as they relate to this study
According to the study's hypothesis and assertion, the majority of kids will
respond favorably to people who treat them in a more favorable manner. Both of
these age groups—infants and toddlers—would prefer to be around more
uplifting and gregarious people than antisocial ones. Because they conducted
five separate trials to get their findings, the study's methodology and design are
experimental in nature. Since conducting trials would be necessary to confirm or
refute the main premise, the study design and methodology are in line with it. A
large portion of this hypothesis would remain untested and many people would
be unaware of the outcome if they lacked the tests to use. For this study, the
researchers recruited volunteers of all ages; they included two-month-old babies,
eight-month-olds, and a few toddlers. This, in my opinion, was a nice variety
since it allowed you to examine whether the outcomes may
