Basis van classificatie van neuronen:
1.Afstand axonale projectie
o projecting of principal neuron: overbrugt verschillende regio´s: lange afstand zoals

o interneuron: blijft in zelfde regio (lokaal)
2. Patroon van dendritische boom (kan spiny of aspiny zijn)
o pyramidale vorm: duidelijk onderscheid tussen dendrieten en axon
o radiale vorm: geen duidelijk onderscheid dendrieten en axon
o bij de spines zien we lokale verhoogde concentratie aan Ca wat leidt tot
geometrische veranderingen dus invloed op membraanpotentiaal en AP.
3. Aantal processen
o unipolair: 1 proces (signaal wordt enkel doorgegeven en niet verwerkt). Het signaal
wordt rechtstreeks doorgegeven.
o bipolair: 2 processen (beperkte verwerking van signaal)
o multipolair: veel processen (veel inputs die worden verwerkt aangezien er veel
vertakkingen zijn)
