Strategy and Positioning Analysis Part 1
It is critical for any company to create a successful strategy when launching or marketing
a new product. Besides the careful planning and brainstorming, there are also different avenues
of advertising to consider. Apple Inc. is just such a company that has successfully launched
many products and services using these tools. Below you will read about how they started their
company, their current products, their new products and our strategy for planning and marketing
their newest product.
Overview of Organization
Apple Inc. was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in Jobs parents garage
and they have been innovating the computer hardware and software industry ever since (Finkle
& Mallin, 2010). Apple's first computer was basic compared to today’s standards, but was
considered groundbreaking at the time. Since then, they have expanded their product line to
include other ground breaking products such as the iPhone, iPod, iTunes, iPad, Mac, Apple
Watch, and many other products (Rawlinson, 2016). Apple Inc. continues to be a leader in the
computer hardware and software industry despite tough competition from other companies.
Description of Product/Service
Apple Inc. is ready to announce the release of a new iPhone, the iPhone 8. This newest
version of the iPhone will come equipped with a better display screen for greater usability. It
will also come with a more advanced processor that will allow for more speed and processing.
The camera, like all models, has been updated so that users can take professional worthy photos.
And lastly, they have added a wireless charging feature that everyone is going to want to use
(IPhone 8, 2017). The iPhone 8 will continue to be provided through the top cell phone carriers.
